Upon arrival at San Jose International Airport -SJO- (not later than 2pm or you’d have to spend the first night in San Jose) you will be transferred to La Fortuna, a village located in northern Costa Rica and home of the impressive Arenal volcano. Go on an adventure to find our lazy friend: the sloth, an iconic symbol of Costa Rica’s amazing rainforest wildlife! We'll walk for about 1.2 kilometers through the beautiful rainforest looking for our lazy friend: The sloth. Affixed with permanent smiles, sloths easily steal the hearts of those that watch them. In addition, you’ll also get great views of a variety of birds, brightly-colored toucans, elusive iguanas, and more. Duration: 2 hours ~ Difficulty: Easy Later enjoy a great combination of adventure, nature and adrenaline right at the base of the impressive Arenal Volcano. You will be geared up at the Zip line operations center with all the equipment you need. From there, you'll head to the first canopy platform in an off-road vehicle, and after that, you'll take off flying! The zip lining platforms are surrounded by primary rainforest and great 360-degree views! This canopy zip line adventure will take you on a total of 13 exciting cables throughout this well-thought-out adventure park. Day at leisure in La Fortuna. Optional activities such as hike in the Arenal Volcano, fun white-water rafting, biking in scenic landscapes, horseback riding, visit to an amazing waterfall, tasty chocolate tour among others are available. Early morning transfer to Guápiles Village. From there continue to La Pavona docks where you take a boat to Tortuguero National Park. Enjoy a 1-hour approx. nature cruise to your Lodge. Lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon visit the small town of Tortuguero and learn the way of life of its inhabitants before returning to the lodge to enjoy dinner. Transfer time 5 hours approx. including boat transfer to Tortuguero Overnight at Tortuga Lodge 4* sup – 1 River View Balcony Upstairs room. (2 full beds). Meals: B, L & D

Leave early morning the lodge by boat (shared with other guests) with your naturalist guide to explore the creeks of the National Park or join one of the available experiences included in your program which can take you deeper into the rainforest or to the nearby town. The morning hours are especially active in the rain forest, when wildlife is hungry and in search of their energy source for the day. Return to the lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon journey back through time and glimpse the fascinating history and culture of Tortuguero Village , first known as Turtle Bogue or treat yourself to the only birds-eye view of the majestic Caribbean lowlands on a two-hour intermediate-level hike up Cerro Tortuguero. Return to the lodge by boat. Late afternoon you are welcome to discover the magical twilight hours of the rainforest on a two-hour walk through Tortuga Lodge’s private 26-hectare nature reserve.
