Overnight at Hotel Camino Real 3* sup – 1 Standard double room. Meals: None
Breakfast and transfer to Granada, the jewel of Nicaraguan cities. On the way, visit Mombacho, a 1400 meters high volcano. A powerful truck will drive all the way to the top of the volcano where you will go through coffee plantations and cloud forest. From the top hike 1h30 around one of the craters with different incredible views to the crater, Granada, and the Islets in Lake Nicaragua. (Optional: Hike the Tigrillo (3 hours) or Puma Trail (4-5 hours), more challenging hikes that go around the other craters and offers stunning views. Ask for rates)!
Later, go sliding down from tree to tree through several platforms and bridges very safely built, overlooking the coffee plantations in the canopy tour.
Overnight at Hotel Patio del Malinche 2* sup – 1 Standard double room. Meals: B
Morning go biking in the city to admire the neo classic colonial style buildings. Granada has an interesting background history and is known for its beautiful well-preserved architecture. Bike all the way to Lake Nicaragua and arrive in the Asese peninsula where you will go for a kayak tour on the Lake to discover some of the rich flora and fauna of the Isletas. This great day is complete with a night visit Masaya National Park, an active volcano currently displays gaseous activity. Return to Granada, free time to relax and explore the city.
Overnight at Hotel Patio del Malinche – 1 Standard double room. Meals: B
Morning transfer to Leon, one of the oldest colonial cities in Central America. On the way visit Catarina, a small native village overlooking the Apoyo lagoon. From here hike down inside the dry forest in the “caldera” of the extinct volcano, which now hosts a beautiful lagoon: The Apoyo Lagoon. On the way, observe birds and monkeys anf spend some time at leisure in a small resort swimming in the crystalline waters of the lagoon.
Overnight at Hotel Flor de Sarta 2* sup – 1 Standard double room. Meals: B-L
Early morning wake up to discover one of Nicaragua’s monsters: Cerro Negro active volcano. Hike to the top (Less than 1 hour) enjoying impressive views of the neighboring volcanoes Telica, Momotombo, Pilas-El Hoyo. At the crater, you will see sulfur coming out from many places!
Optional (not included): Experience “Sandboarding”; an exciting sport that will have you descend the black sands of the volcano strapped onto a board. Truly, the ride of your life! Visit San Jacinto and its “Hervideros”, geysers of volcanic origin.
Overnight at Hotel Flor de Sarta – 1 Standard double room. Meals: B
Today we take you to the Telica Volcano, a very active volcano! Partial hike up with a 4WD in a rough trail then continue by foot. After 3 hours hiking reach the top of this huge mountain. Enjoy a beautiful panorama of the surrounding volcanoes. Hike down and continue to Chinandega and Cosiguina area, a remote and rural area located in the far north western Nicaragua. Eventually arrive at a 950 acres’ ranch or “Finca”.
Overnight at Hacienda Hato Nuevo 1* (Rustic). Meals: B – BL – D
Today go for a horseback riding tour with your local guide, cowboy from the area, in the dry forest surrounding the ranch. During your horseback riding tour, see many species of centenary, tropical trees, lush vegetation and plants and flowers. Reach a “Mirador” (lookout) where from you will be able to see the Gulf of Cosigüina, which divides Nicaragua and El Salvador. Return to the ranch for lunch. In the afternoon, we transfer you to Managua City.
