Morning visit to Miraflores locks to see the huge vessels passing the Panama Canal – a masterpiece of engineering. See many ships getting lifted or lowered 16 meters in two distinct steps. Complete the tour by visiting the Museum and Visitor Center at Miraflores and learn the history of the canal and its enormous importance for the worldwide trade commerce.

Then visit the Amador Causeway, a road that connects three Islands in the Pacific Ocean and offers magnificent views on the Canal on one side and on the skyline of Panama City on the other side and end with a visit to the Casco Viejo, Panama City’s colonial quarter. Feel set back in time as you admire the lovely colonial houses, the narrow roads and the impressive churches.

Undertake a train trip on the historical and original railway course from Panama City to Colón. This 1-hour travel leads you through the jungle and along the Panama Canal. Then visit the impressive Agua Clara Visitor Center located on the Atlantic side of the Panama Canal. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the famous Gatun Lake, where cargo ships or other vessels transit every day and the view of the expansion of the Canal. End with a visit to the San Lorenzo Fort, located at the entrance of the Chagres River. It was through this river where the notorious pirate Henry Morgan arrived to the Old Panama, to burn and loot the city.

Today we take you to visit the Panama Canal, a 100-year-old engineering marvel and massive modern construction project. The partial transit tour starts at the Amador Causeway where you board the ferry. You will enter the canal at the north end of the Gaillard Cut which was carved through the Continental Divide and is full of history and geological value. Your boat will travel the Cut on the way to Pedro Miguel Locks and will even see part of the Panama Canal expansion. During the tour, you will pass under the Bridge of the Americas, and later, you will be able to admire the Bay of Panama and Panama City’s splendorous skyline.

Important Note: This tour normally operates Friday & Saturday. It can be change to fit your travel schedule.

Today you will be transferred to the domestic Airport to take a domestic flight to Bocas del Toro. Isla Colon is the largest and most developed island of the archipelago. Home to the provincial capital of Bocas del Toro, a colorful town made of wooden houses built in the early 20th century. Soak up in the Caribbean vibes of the town!

Breakfast and shared boat transfer to Almirante pier. After arriving to Almirante, a shared transfer will take you to Sixaola border. After immigration formalities, continue to Costa Rica’s Caribbean Puerto Viejo. Time at leisure in your hotel.

Early morning shared transfer to Guapiles enjoying a Tico breakfast on the way.  On arrival you are transferred to a dock and by boat reach your hotel located on the Caribbean Coast on a sand strip between the Tortuguero Canals and the Caribbean Ocean and surrounded by lush gardens, rainforests, pristine beaches and the amazing Tortuguero canals. In the afternoon enjoy a shared tour to the village of Tortuguero.

This morning go on a shared guided walk along the trails surrounding the lodge to learn more about the flora and fauna of the jungle. Learn about the delicate ecosystem and learn how the Lodge’s bio-digester plays a very important effort in conservation of the Lodge.

Later, take a guided Canal Tour. Hop on board and witness a parade of tropical birds, reptiles and mammals as we motor through the black water canals of the Tortuguero National Park. Scan the trees for toucans; watch the shores for caimans, otters, iguanas and frogs, and look up to see monkeys sharing space with sloths.

Departure in the morning and travel again by boat back to the docks. Enjoy lunch and continue with a shared transfer to La Fortuna, a village located in northern Costa Rica and home of the impressive Arenal volcano.

We’ll pick you up from your hotel to embark on a great adventure! Start with a relaxing ride up a mountain by an open-air gondola. The breathtaking view will get wider and more breathtaking as you get higher up onto the mountain. Later, walk across a series of bridges with your naturalist guide who will point out wildlife, plant species and offer fun facts about Costa Rica.
