Day 2: Gatun Lake Expedition, Aerial Tram Tour, Sloth Sanctuary and Nature Labs
This morning, enjoy a panoramic tour along the world-famous Panama Canal. This trip will take you into the Gatun Lake, a major part of the Panama Canal, where you will see and learn about the fascinating tropical wildlife of the lake and the surrounding forest. You will explore some of the islands formed after the creation of which was once the largest artificial lake in the world. With some luck and with the help of a naturalist guide, you can see crocodiles, caimans, sloths, monkeys and a host of birds native to the area. Duration: 1 hour approx. ~ Difficulty: Easy In the afternoon, gather again to discover the secrets of the upper forest canopy with a ride on the aerial tram. This peaceful and relaxing tour offers you a unique perspective of wildlife, a journey of 600 meters abroad a gondola that rises above the rainforest to appreciating viewpoints otherwise unachievable on the ground. You will have the possibility to see a wide variety of birds that nest there, sloths and several species of monkeys. At the end of the Aerial Tram tour, you will find and impressive 30-meter high observation tower. From the top, you can appreciate the privileged 360º view of the Soberania National Park, the Emberá indigenous communities nearby and Chagres river. End with a visit to the resort’s sprawling botanical gardens, you will find distinct nature exhibits, designed to entertain and educate you about the unique fauna and flora of this tropical paradise. The exhibition area is composed of three exhibits that include: Butterfly Farm, Frog Garden and Orchid Nursery.
