Panama CityDay by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Costa Rica and transfer to Hotel
On your arrival at the airport in San Jose (SJO), our driver will welcome you and will transfer you to your hotel. Transfer time 45m approx.~ Overnight at Hotel Rincon del Valle 3* for one night – 1 Deluxe room. Meals: None
Day 2: Transfer to Tami Lodge, Santa Maria de Dota
Morning transfer to Tami lodge, located between Los Quetzales National Park and Los Santos Forest Reserve in a remotely accessible location, where the famous Quetzal can be observed. Transfer time 2 hours approx.~ Tami Lodge is surrounded by nothing but forests, wildlife and coffee plantations. To add to your experience Tami Lodge does not have any electricity to distract you from the stunning surroundings. Solar lighting directs you to the rooms at night, with a sensor light in each bathroom and a 6hr portable lamps in the tents offering that extra sense of adventure. Onsite restaurant available. Overnight at Tami Lodge for three nights – 1 Standard Tent. Meals: B, L & D
Day 3: Waterfall Hike Tours
Enjoy a wonderful adventure that starts in the magical town Providencia of Dota with a 4WD transfer to a private farm. From here we begin our challenging hike which will take us to see 3 beautiful waterfalls over 20 meters high, surrounded by lush nature with the third and final waterfall hidden in the middle of the mixed tropical forest. Time for a break and snack before trekking back through a spectacular trail and enjoy a delicious typical lunch before seeing the final two waterfalls of the tour. Overnight at Tami Lodge – 1 Standard Tent. Meals: B, L & D
Day 4: Highland Fruits Tour
Why take a tour of fruit so common in places like USA and Europe? The answer is simple: the beautiful views of the valley of Copey serve as a backdrop to this tour where we will see how fruit and vegetables blend into nature and permit us to discover some of the unique sights in the country. Or maybe because we will see diversity in tropical and traditional crops such as apples, plums, peaches, passion fruit, tomatillo, blackberries and the incomparable Hass avocado… We will have the chance to see how a semi-organic farm operates, and how it produces fruit every 5 days by using diverse processes. We will finish the tour with a typical lunch, using only local food, and also give you the opportunity to fish for trout in a restaurant-farm in the area. Overnight at Tami Lodge – 1 Standard Tent. Day 5: Transfer to Manuel Antonio
Today continue with a private transfer to Manuel Antonio in the Pacific Coast. Transfer time 3 hours approx.~ Famous for its National Park, the bustling little town of Manuel Antonio is located on the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica, very close to Quepos, known for its sport fishing and lively atmosphere. The region is a treasure for its biodiversity, attracting nature lovers, eco-travellers and adventurers. Overnight at at Hotel Costa Verde 3* for two nights – 1 Studio. Meals: B
Day 6: At leisure in Manuel Antonio
Day at leisure to enjoy the amenities of your hotel. There are plenty of optional fun, nature activities on land and water to choose! You may go for a walk in the trails of the beautiful Manuel Antonio National Park, enjoy a relaxing cruise, “fly” in the canopy tree top with the zip line adventure and more. Day 7: Transfer to La Fortuna
Today, you will be transferred to La Fortuna, a village located in northern Costa Rica and home of the impressive Arenal volcano. Transfer time 5 hours and 30 minutes approx.~ Time at leisure in your hotel. Overnight at at Hotel Casa Luna 3* for two nights – 1 Standard room. Meals: B
Day 8: Arenal Volcano National Park Hike with visit to Hot Springs visit
Today, visit the Arenal Volcano National Park, an iconic volcano! We’ll trek for about 1.2 miles through different scenarios. You will also find an incredible viewpoint close to the volcano where you’ll find yourself stepping on lava flows turned into stone and views of the Arenal Lake and the landscape around as no other spot in the area. Your nature guide will share with you catching and interesting information about the place, the hiding fauna among the trees and bushes and of course about this impressive volcano. Continue with a visit to the refreshing thermal hot springs. You will enjoy a site with hot springs and thermal waters coming from a nearby volcano, with dinner included. Just the perfect place to enjoy nature and relax. Duration: 6 hours. ~ Difficulty: Easy Overnight at at Hotel Casa Luna 3* – 1 Standard room. Meals: B, D
Day 9: Arenal Hanging Bridges and transfer to San Jose
Enjoy visiting a beautiful, environmentally-friendly nature project located near the Arenal Volcano. There are trails and bridges that bring you as close as you could ever hope to get to the birds, flowers, and the lush vegetation of this primary rainforest. Once you are on walking along, you will be able to admire the great diversity of flora and fauna typically found in the tropical rain forest and also have the opportunity to see many different birds and plant species for approx. 2.5 hrs. Duration: 3 hours ~ Difficulty: Easy After this wonderful experience, continue to San Jose with a shared transfer. Transfer time 4 hours approx.~ Overnight at Hotel Rincon del Valle 3* for one night – 1 Deluxe room. Meals: None
Day 10: Transfer to San Jose Intl. Airport
Depending on your flight schedule, we transfer you to the Intl. Airport in San Jose to take your flight back home. Transfer time 45 minutes approx. ~ End of services. Come back soon to Pura Vida land
