Day 1: Liberia Airport (LIR) and Transfer to Rio Perdido
Upon arrival at Liberia International Airport you will be transferred to Bagaces area to Rio Perdido (“Lost River”) Hotel & Thermal River, set in the lost valley below the Miravalles Volcano, an ancient canyon where hot water emanates from under boulders and gushes from the rocky outcrops. Transfer time 1h30m approx.~ Overnight at Rio Perdido 4* for 3 nights – 1 double bungalow. Meals: B
Day 2: Canyon Adventure at Rio Perdido
After a hearty breakfast enjoy an unforgettable adventure! You will go on a series of exciting activities at the Canyon Adventure such as zip line in 15 platforms: 6 of them are rock-based, 9 are suspended on the canyon walls, a pendulum cable, a 50ft “Tarzan swing”, a 90ft challenge bridge, water station in the middle of the circuit among others. The adrenaline and life-time memories will be guaranteed! Duration: 2.5 hours ~ Difficulty: Easy Afternoon is at leisure. You may choose from one of the activities of the property such as mountain bike the technical trails, hiking trails through this tropical dry forest, soak in the thermal pools, use inflatable kayaks and more. Overnight at Rio Perdido 4* – 1 double bungalow. Meals: B
Day 3: White water tubing
White water tubing at Rio Perdido is awesome, modern equipment will help you safely traverse the river and get a real sense of the canyon and its magic. During the journey, birds, monkeys and, occasionally, some larger mammals will announce their presence. Duration: 2.5 hours ~ Difficulty: Easy to moderate Please note that this activity is not suitable for everyone. While a slow float will take you through most of the trajectory, there are several intense rapids along the way. There is always a chance of making contact with some of the exposed rocks, which can result in bruising and even minor cuts. Children under the age of 12 may not participate in white water tubing. In case your children can’t take this activity, you may enjoy the pools, go for a hike in the property (different lengths and difficulties) or go bicycle. Afternoon at leisure. Day 4: Transfer to Playa Conchal
Morning transfer to the beautiful Playa Conchal. Lying on Costa Rica’s famous Gold Coast, this gorgeous beach is what you have in mind: blue crystal waters and sparkling white sands. Time at leisure upon arrival. Transfer time: 2 hours.~ Overnight at the W Conchal 5* for 4 nights – 1 Spectacular Ocean Escape (2 Queen beds). Meals: B
Day 5: Boat tour to Palo Verde Wetlands National Park
In this excursion, we will take you through back roads, sugar cane fields, local towns, see the locals digging up the sand used for the concrete… An unforgettable cultural experience. Arrive at an elderly “Casona" a beautiful old house that belonged to 3 former presidents of Costa Rica… This venerable construction will tell the story of the Guanacaste cowboys or "sabaneros" who lived way before cars, cell phones or internet by the midst of the 1800s in a faraway era of colonial Costa Rica. We will then get in a covered motor boat (shared with other guests) through the Tempisque River and will cruise Palo Verde National Park looking for wildlife such as monkeys, crocodiles, iguanas, all kind of exotic birds, bats... Enjoy of some of our most precious traditions such as the “oxoperated sugar mill” (trapiche) where they grind the cane with oxen. Freshly cane juice will be offered to you to taste. Days 6 and 7: At leisure in Playa Conchal
Days at leisure at the beach! Enjoy your time in this beautiful beach. Optional tours such as surf, sport fishing, sailing and Catamaran sunset tours, ATV tours among others can be arranged, please enquire with us! Overnight at the W Conchal 5* – 1 Spectacular Ocean Escape (2 Queen beds). Meals: B
Day 8: Playa Conchal – Liberia Airport
Today we will provide a private transfer to the International Airport in Liberia to take your flight back home. Transfer time: 1 hour ~ Come back soon to Costa Rica, Pura Vida!
